Buying a bidet attachment? Plan the connections before installation.
A completed Spring Valley bidet installation shows why the product, toilet fit, water connections, and access should be reviewed together.

A bidet attachment can look like a small addition to an existing toilet. Planning the installation still deserves more than a quick look at the product photo. The toilet, seat, water connections, and nearby cabinetry all form part of the setup. Sharing the actual product information before a service visit helps the installer understand what you bought and which connections need to be assessed.
What our team completed in Spring Valley
On a September 2026 service visit, a customer asked our team to install a bidet they had supplied. The technician connected the unit to the necessary hot and cold water supplies, routed a line through an opening in the nearby cabinet, and reinstalled the toilet seat over the attachment.
The service report records checks of the completed connections, cleanup, and no leaks observed during final testing. This was an attachment installation on an existing toilet, not a new toilet or a bathroom remodel. It illustrates why the connections beyond the toilet itself can be an important part of the conversation.
Start with the exact product, not just a general description
Send the dispatcher the manufacturer and model, a link to the product information, and the installation instructions if available. Include a photo of the unopened parts or packaging when it helps identify the product. Keep those records after installation so the correct equipment can be identified if a service question comes up later.
Do not assume a different attachment will use the same arrangement as the one in our photo. Ask the installer to review the chosen product's requirements and explain which parts of the existing setup can be used. A photo is helpful for planning, but it does not replace checking the actual connections on site.
Look at the toilet, seat, and surrounding space together
Before the visit, share clear pictures of the toilet, the seat mounting area, and the nearby cabinet. Mention a tight space beside the toilet, a seat you want to keep, or a cabinet door that already has limited clearance. These are useful details for a fit-and-access discussion.
Ask how the completed attachment will sit with the seat and where its controls will be reached. If anything must be altered to accommodate the product, have the proposed change explained before the work starts. The goal is a clear agreement about the installation, not an assumption that every attachment fits every existing bathroom.
Discuss water connections and cabinet changes in advance
The Spring Valley installation included both hot and cold water connections and an opening through a cabinet for a water line. Those details belonged to this particular product and bathroom. They should not be treated as universal instructions for installing another model.
Ask where the proposed connections will be made, whether any cabinet opening is needed, and how access for future service will be preserved. Tell the plumber about an existing drip or a shutoff that has been difficult to operate. Leave disconnection, valve work, and adjustments to the person assessing and performing the installation.
Make the handoff more than a finished photograph
Before the technician leaves, ask what was checked with the water restored and how the product is intended to be operated. Keep the manufacturer's use and care information. Have the installer point out the relevant shutoffs and explain how to report a concern.
If you later notice moisture, describe where it appears and whether it happens during use or while the fixture is idle. Stop using the affected attachment and contact the installer for guidance. A clear description of the change is more useful than trying to tighten unfamiliar connections yourself.
