Plan service for your property

A useful Encinitas plumbing visit starts with the symptom and ends with a clear record of what changed. Our local service history includes a root obstruction followed by a camera inspection, two faucets with different flow problems, a water heater that needed a return visit and a commercial odor investigation. John Ciampoli Plumbing coordinates these services from our Spring Valley office throughout San Diego County.

Drain clearing and the follow-up camera inspection

On August 7, 2026, our technician investigated reported sewage and odor near an Encinitas cleanout. The box was dry when inspected but contained toilet paper, and a large root was found entering the cleanout. The root was removed, the drain was cabled and water was run to check drainage.

The crew returned on August 13 with camera equipment. The inspection extended from the cleanout to the city main, and the report recorded no additional root intrusion or other visible abnormalities along the inspected line. No additional repairs were recommended at that time.

Clearing an obstruction and inspecting the line answer different questions. Tell dispatch about recurring backups, previous clearing and any available camera report. The findings describe the condition observed during those visits; they are not a guarantee that a drain will never back up again.

Two faucet symptoms, two aerator findings

During a May 13, 2026 service visit, an Encinitas kitchen faucet had uneven, turbulent flow while an upstairs bathroom faucet had very low flow. The kitchen faucet was missing its aerator.

The technician checked the bathroom faucet supply before replacing its aerator and installed an aerator at the kitchen faucet. Testing documented restored flow at both fixtures. This visit did not require replacing both faucets or changing the property water-pressure regulator.

When requesting service, note whether the change affects hot water, cold water or both, and whether other fixtures behave normally. That comparison helps describe the problem without assuming the whole property has a pressure fault.

A water-heater repair that required a return visit

An April 29, 2026 Encinitas visit addressed a water heater that stopped operating after a short run. The technician consulted manufacturer support and replaced the gas control, but the same shutdown continued.

On April 30, a return visit replaced the chamber sensor and gasket. The technician monitored the heater for approximately 20 minutes and recorded that it continued operating. The record also identified separate buildup at cold-side fittings and recommended drain-valve work; those recommendations were not documented as completed in this job.

Share the heater model, displayed error and previous repair history with dispatch. A temporary restart is different from a completed repair check. Gas controls and combustion components require qualified service; this example is a service history, not a procedure for repairing another model.

Commercial odor investigation: inspection and proposed repair

On April 20, 2026, our technician performed smoke testing and inspected accessible vent piping at an Encinitas commercial property after an odor report. No smoke was observed entering the serviced store during testing. The roof inspection documented damaged vent piping and its proximity to a ventilation opening.

Vent-pipe replacement and an extension were proposed. The later follow-up notes show that approval was still outstanding before the job was closed. We completed the investigation; this record does not establish that the proposed piping repair was performed or that the odor was permanently resolved.

For a commercial investigation, arrange the authorized contact, access to the affected rooms and any roof-access requirements. Report when and where an odor occurs, along with prior inspections, so dispatch can plan the visit.

Prepare your Encinitas service request

Describe the current problem and any work already performed. Dispatch can then confirm availability and the next steps for your property.

  • Identify affected fixtures and whether the symptom is constant or intermittent.
  • Keep previous service reports, equipment model information and camera findings available.
  • For a rental, HOA or business, identify who approves the work and coordinates access.
  • Ask what the visit includes, what requires separate approval and how results will be checked.

Questions before the visit

Can you inspect a drain after an obstruction has been cleared?
Ask dispatch about a camera inspection and share the previous clearing report. In the documented August Encinitas job, clearing occurred first and the camera inspection followed on a separate visit. Equipment, access and the condition found determine the appropriate scope.
