Plan service for your property

John Ciampoli Plumbing serves Escondido from our Spring Valley office. For a persistent drain odor, recurring fixture leak or managed-building repair, describe both the current symptom and the earlier work. A documented Escondido visit shows why a toilet-seal repair, a drain inspection and a recommendation for additional work need separate explanations.

An Escondido odor investigation: what the technician found and repaired

On June 4, 2026, our technician investigated a sewer odor reported over several months in an Escondido building. The visit included checking plumbing fixtures, removing two restroom toilets for inspection and inspecting the drainage system with a camera.

The technician found leakage at both toilet seals, replaced one seal with a foam gasket and reset the toilets. The follow-up service report recorded both toilets functioning at the time of service. These are the completed tasks documented for that visit.

The technician also noted movement and suspected deterioration around the toilet supports. The service report recommended evaluating and repairing those supports because movement could compromise the seals again. The record does not establish a completed structural repair or a permanent resolution of the odor.

Intact drain piping did not mean there was no further work to consider

The camera inspection did not reveal visible breaks or separations along the inspected piping. It did reveal substantial buildup, and the technician recommended additional cleaning of the main line and one toilet branch.

That recommendation was separate from the work completed on June 4. The reviewed record does not document the proposed cleaning being performed. When discussing an inspection, ask which sections were inspected, what the technician observed and which recommended tasks still need authorization.

Prepare a clear scope for an Escondido service visit

An owner or property manager can help dispatch plan access and approvals before the technician arrives. Share an existing service report if available, and explain what has changed since that visit.

  • Describe the affected restroom or fixture, when the odor or leak occurs and whether it returned after a prior repair.
  • Report any movement you have already noticed during normal use; do not remove a toilet or open a wall to investigate before the visit.
  • Identify who can authorize plumbing work, coordinate access to occupied areas and arrange any separate building-support or finish repairs.
  • Ask the proposal to distinguish inspection, fixture repair, drain cleaning, follow-up checks and work assigned to another contractor.

Questions before the visit

Does a clear camera inspection rule out a leaking toilet seal?
The June 4 Escondido visit documented intact drain piping and leaking toilet seals in the same building. The camera findings and fixture findings addressed different parts of that service request; neither should be omitted from the repair history.
Was every recommended repair completed on that visit?
No. The record documents seal work and toilets reset and functioning at the time of service. Further cleaning and evaluation of the supports remained recommendations. Ask dispatch to confirm the authorized scope for a new visit.
